Many features of the phone system are accessible by dialling these codes from your extension.
Some star codes require the dialling extension to have operator status. This can be set for an extension within the web control panel. Codes which require this status are indicated.
Code: **<Extension>
Feature: Call pickup
Description:
Take a call ringing on another extension. Dial ** followed by the extension number that is ringing and the call will be answered on your own extension.
Code: *22<DDI><ExternalNumber>
Operator required: Yes
Feature: Forward a DDI an external number.
Description:
Forward all calls to an incoming number to the specified UK telephone number. The incoming number must be the full UK number and 12 digits long. E.g. 441209123456.
This feature is not generally meant to be dialled manually but rather set up as an external extension.
E.g: Creating external extension 701 with the following code:
*2244120912345607766123456
Would cause all calls to 01209-123456 to forward to 07766-123456 when 701 is dialled.
It would be typical to create a second external extension that dials *21 so the forwarding can be cancelled.
Use *21 to cancel the forwarding.
