Connecting Xtelsio TAPI to the Manager Interface
Download Xtelsio TAPI for Asterisk from http://www.xtelsio.com/download/xtelsio_TAPI_for_Asterisk_setup.zip
Extract the ZIP file and then run the setup executable.
When asked, choose to install without license for the 30 day trial.
Tick the box to start the application after setup.
You may be asked to enter location information into Windows after setup. Just entering your local dial code is enough. Leave other fields blank.
When the Phone and Modem dialog appears go to the advanced tab. Click xtelsio TAPI for Asterisk and click Configure.
Next to the IP Address box, click Settings.
Change IP address to your VIP VoIP server's hostname. E.g. voipserver337.vipvoipuk.net
Change port to the AMI port number for your VIP VoIP server. (We will provide this information on request.)
Set the username and password to the ones provided by VIP VoIP.
Click connect. Leave the observe connection box that appears ticked.
Once connected, click OK. You should see the state change to “Connected and Logged in”
Click Asterisk Line 1 and click Settings
Suffix the extension you wish to watch after “SIP/” in the Channel box. e.g. For extension 200 on voipserver337 the box would contain SIP/200-voipserver337
Change “Your Phone Number” to the extension digits. e.g. 200
Change “Your name” to the extension digits. e.g. 200
“Context” should be ticked and include the voipserver name e.g. voipserver337
Click OK. Continue to repeat this process for all extensions you wish to monitor for events.
You can use the windows dialer.exe to test your TAPI lines. Try dialling your mobile.
